DIAMONDS IN THE ROUGH: If you wait long enough a diamond may appear.  The Golden Hudson (above) is one such case where a diamond was found in the mist of ashes.

1933_ET___No_2_-_in_1964_small.jpg (1611 bytes) Dave's 1933 Essex Terraplane:   In the 1980s Dave experienced a renewed interest in family genealogy.   In the President's Message in the Feb 1991 issue of Hudson Spoken Here Dave wrote,

"This time I ventured into the area of genealogy.   It is by far the most economical hobby I've ever attempted. [please don't believe that statement, I seem to spend a lot of money on genealogy now days].  Step one was to organize my Grandfather's notes;... as luck would have it I found a stash of papers (1948-1957 time frame) my father had tucked away years ago.  In it was a letter from my Grandmother written six months before I was born.  In the letter was a comment that she wished Grandpa would sell his car (my '33 ET!) for scrap metal.  Can you imagine such a ridiculous thought?  And I loved my Grandmother!  My grandmother, mother and wife claim relation only through marriage, but I'm sure it's got to be closer than that.  I've now heard the same general comment from all three of them."
